1 Who we are

DS Flooring ("DS Flooring", "we", "us" or "our") is a vinyl flooring specialist based in Singapore, operating the website dsflooringsg.com. We supply and install LVT, SPC and other vinyl flooring for homes and businesses.

For the purposes of data-protection law, DS Flooring is the party responsible for the personal data described in this policy (in GDPR terms, the "data controller"). Our showroom and contact details are in section 16.

2 Scope of this policy

This policy applies to personal data we collect when you:

  • visit or browse our website;
  • submit an enquiry, quote request or contact form;
  • call, message, email or WhatsApp us, or visit our showroom; and
  • engage us to supply or install flooring.

It also explains your rights under the laws that may apply to you, including Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA), the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA (CCPA/CPRA). Where a specific law gives you stronger rights, that law prevails for you.

3 Personal data we collect

We only collect data that is relevant to serving you. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

Information you give us

  • Identity & contact details — your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number.
  • Enquiry details — your premises type, approximate floor area, number of rooms, timeline, and anything you tell us about your project.
  • Correspondence — the content of messages, emails and call notes when you contact us.
  • Transaction details — quotation, order and site-visit information if you become a customer.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical & usage data — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and referring site, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see section 6).

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data (such as health, race or religious information) and ask that you do not send it to us.

4 How we collect your data

  • Directly from you — when you fill in a form, request a quote, or contact us by phone, email, WhatsApp or in person.
  • Automatically — as you use our website, via cookies and analytics tools.
  • From third parties — for example messaging or lead platforms (such as WhatsApp) and our website/marketing service providers, where you have engaged with us through them.

5 How and why we use your data

We use your personal data to:

  • respond to your enquiry and contact you about it;
  • prepare and send you a quotation, and arrange site visits or showroom appointments;
  • supply, schedule and install your flooring, and provide after-sales support and warranty service;
  • operate, maintain, secure and improve our website;
  • send you service messages and, where permitted, relevant marketing (see section 12); and
  • comply with our legal obligations and protect our legal rights.
Our legal bases (for visitors in the EEA/UK). Where the GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent (e.g. for optional marketing and non-essential cookies); the performance of a contract with you (e.g. to deliver flooring you ordered); our legitimate interests in running and growing our business responsibly (e.g. answering enquiries and securing our site); and legal obligation where the law requires it. Under Singapore's PDPA, we collect, use and disclose personal data with your consent (including deemed consent) or as otherwise permitted by the PDPA.

6 Cookies & similar technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Some cookies are strictly necessary; others (such as analytics) are optional.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and refuse non-essential cookies. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site function. Where required by law, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.

7 How we share your data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only where necessary, with:

  • Our team and installers — staff and sub-contractors who carry out your project;
  • Service providers — hosting, website, lead-capture, email, analytics and messaging providers who process data on our behalf under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection terms;
  • Professional advisers and authorities — where required by law, regulation, court order, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims; and
  • A buyer or successor — if our business is reorganised, merged or sold, subject to this policy.

8 International data transfers

We are based in Singapore. Some of our service providers may store or process data on servers located outside your country, including outside Singapore or the EEA/UK. Where we transfer personal data across borders, we take steps to ensure it receives a standard of protection comparable to that required under applicable law — for example, using providers bound by appropriate contractual safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses where relevant) and PDPA transfer requirements.

9 How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out in this policy — for example, to handle your enquiry, fulfil your order, honour warranties, and meet legal, tax and accounting obligations. When we no longer need it, we securely delete or anonymise it. Enquiries that do not become projects are kept for a limited period and then removed.

10 How we protect your data

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — including access controls, encryption in transit (HTTPS), and trusted, security-conscious service providers — to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, disclosure or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to address any incident promptly and in line with our legal obligations.

11 Your privacy rights

Your rights depend on where you live and which law applies. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Singapore (PDPA)

You may request access to the personal data we hold about you and information on how it has been used or disclosed, request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data, and withdraw your consent to our continued collection, use or disclosure of your data at any time. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide certain services to you.

EEA & UK (GDPR)

You have the right to access, rectify, erase ("right to be forgotten"), restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

California (CCPA/CPRA)

You have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell your personal information. You may also limit the use of sensitive personal information, which we do not seek to collect.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the timeframe required by the applicable law. You may authorise someone to make a request on your behalf.

12 Marketing communications

We will only send you marketing messages where we are permitted to do so. You can opt out at any time by replying to tell us to stop, using any unsubscribe option provided, or emailing [email protected]. Opting out of marketing does not stop service messages about a project you have with us.

13 Children's privacy

Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

14 Third-party websites & links

Our website may link to third-party sites or services (for example WhatsApp, Google or social media). This policy does not cover those third parties, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their privacy notices before sharing your data with them.

15 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be made clear on this page. Please check back periodically.
